11.05.2022 Ege Port Kusadasi Hosted The Largest Cruise Ship To Come To Turkey

Ege Port Kuşadası, Turkey's busiest cruise port, operated by Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, hosted the Odyssey of the Seas, the largest cruise ship ever to arrive in Turkish ports. With the arrival of the luxury ship with a capacity of 5,500 passengers and a length of 347 meters, the record for the largest cruise ship arriving at Turkish ports was broken within 2 weeks.

Stating that Ege Port Kuşadası aims to host a total of 500 calls and 750 thousand passengers this year, Ege Port Kuşadası General Manager and Global Ports Holding Regional Director for East Med Aziz Güngör said, “As Ege Port Kuşadası, we will continue to host the world's largest ships throughout the season. There is a great interest in our country and Kusadasi which is one of the most important cruise destinations in the Mediterranean.”

Odyssey of the Seas, which has the distinction of being the largest cruise ship ever to come to Turkey, was welcomed with a band and folk-dance team at Ege Port Kuşadası with a total of 4,281 passengers. Tourists, who left the ship after entering the country, also visited the world-famous Ancient City of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary.

The ship, which had its maiden voyage on May 11th, plans to make 16 voyages to Kuşadası this year. The itinerary will cover the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas between May and October 2022, departing from the port of Civitavecchia (Rome). The ship will visit prominent Greek islands such as Mykonos and Santorini as well as Ege Port Kusadasi.
